Tianhe district has solidified its status as a leading hub for modern services in Guangzhou, with the added value of its service industry reaching 643.91 billion yuan ($96 billion) in 2025, accounting for 91.8 percent of its GDP and 26.8 percent of the city's service sector output, the district authorities said.

Tianhe's financial sector alone contributed 170 billion yuan in 2025, nearly half of the city's total, while digital finance is reshaping traditional financial ecosystems. The district boasts 52 large-scale fintech software companies with a combined revenue of 21 billion yuan, covering areas like blockchain and intelligent risk control. The e-CNY, or digital yuan, has expanded into 22 sectors, and AI, Tianhe's flagship industry, leads a transformative wave, with 40 percent of the city's enterprises. As Guangzhou's core international consumption center, Tianhe represents 20 percent of the city's total retail sales.

Tianhe will continue to deepen manufacturing-services integration and expand its digital and international service offerings.
