China Isotope & Radiation Corporation, a key player in nuclear technology under State-owned enterprise China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), has established its national headquarters for irradiation applications in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, specifically in Zhujiang New Town.

This move follows CNNC's establishment of its overseas headquarters in Tianhe in July, marking another strategic investment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

As a pivotal component of CNNC's irradiation application industry, the new headquarters will focus on high-tech innovation, encompassing advanced medical devices, green irradiation sterilization of traditional Chinese medicine and food, testing of radiation resistance for nuclear and aerospace materials, and the development of irradiation materials and equipment.

This initiative aims to drive the large-scale, industrial, and practical application of green nuclear technology across China.

The latest move is expected to bolster Tianhe's central enterprise headquarters cluster, enhancing Guangzhou's position as a leading hub for nuclear technology applications. It will facilitate the integration of resources and technological leadership, fostering an ecosystem for high-end inspection, new advanced functional materials, and nuclear technology equipment manufacturing.

Furthermore, leveraging national-level research platforms, the headquarters will collaborate with local universities and research institutes to build an integrated industry-academia-research innovation platform, attracting top talent and boosting the Greater Bay Area's innovation capacity in nuclear technology applications.

As the most dynamic national central business district in Guangzhou, Zhujiang New Town boasts outstanding industrial advantages and a superior business environment. It is a hub where central enterprise headquarters, Fortune 500 companies, leading high-tech innovation firms, and top multinational institutions converge.
