The Tianhe district in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, is spearheading the evolution of artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC) from concept to full-scale application, marking a significant shift from large AI models to embodied intelligence and from digital content production to hardware application.

In the first half of this year, Tianhe achieved a GDP of more than 373.6 billion yuan ($55.3 billion), a 6.3 percent increase from the previous year, with software revenues up by 9.9 percent. The district's robust economic and cultural foundation supports companies like NetEase, Quwan Technology, 37 Interactive Entertainment and Lingxi Interactive Entertainment to drive advancements in the AI gaming sector.

At the 2026 China Digital Entertainment Congress on July 30, Wang Chuanpeng, vice-president of Data at 37 Interactive Entertainment, highlighted the transformative impact of AI on digital entertainment. Based in Tianhe for 17 years, this technological and cultural enterprise is advancing a systematic transformation across three dimensions: AI-native business, AI-native capabilities and AI-native organization.

During the same week, Quwan Technology introduced the world's first generative AI guitar, TemPolor, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, showcasing AI's transition from the digital to the physical realm. This innovation allows users to create music without complex theory.

With strong economic backing and continuous innovation, Tianhe is solidifying its position in the AI and digital entertainment landscape and is poised to lead the national AI and digital culture industries.
