The fourth Tianhe Village Community Football Tournament will kick off at the East Athletic Field of South China Agricultural University (Wushan Campus) in Tianhe district on Aug 9.

Since its inception in 2016, the tournament has celebrated a decade of fostering community spirit through football. The tournament has served as a platform to promote friendship and mutual learning for shared progress among the villages of Tianhe district.

Tianhe is renowned as a football hub in Guangzhou, boasting a strong grassroots foundation and a vibrant football culture.

As the tournament approaches, preparations are in full swing. On the morning of July 30, a meeting was held with team leaders from participating village communities. The purpose of the meeting was to enhance the competition experience and ensure a fair, orderly and exciting tournament. A simple yet solemn draw ceremony was also conducted to reveal the groupings.

The tournament promises to showcase outstanding sportsmanship and skill, embodying the spirit of Tianhe football and contributing to the district's commitment to high-quality sports development.
