Outstanding overseas talents gather in Tianhe
The Overseas Youth Talent Gathering in Tianhe event concluded on Aug 4, drawing 60 doctoral and postdoctoral scholars from prestigious universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College.
Over a three-day itinerary, participants engaged in a range of activities, including a Pearl River night cruise and a business environment and talent promotion conference in Tianhe. They also visited leading enterprises and participated in an industry talent matchmaking event, where they interacted with executives from companies in the digital economy.

Discussions focused on job opportunities, postdoctoral positions, and collaborative research. Many scholars are submitting resumes and exchanging contact information for future engagement.
This event is a significant initiative by Tianhe district aimed at attracting overseas talent. Key companies, including XPeng Motors and ZWSOFT, offered nearly 200 positions in artificial intelligence algorithms, large-model R&D, and smart manufacturing, directly addressing the expectations of overseas talents.
An Oxford scholar highlighted Tianhe's comprehensive AI ecosystem, noting its alignment with his research interests. A Cambridge scholar emphasized Tianhe's fertile industrial environment, calling it a place that turns the idea of returning to China into a concrete goal. Another participant praised the district's abundance of opportunities, citing numerous high-quality enterprises and broad prospects for collaboration.
