Tianhe district in Guangzhou held a conference to further implement the High-quality Development Project of Hundreds of Counties, Thousands of Towns and Ten Thousand Villages and advance coordinated urban-rural regional development on July 25.

Attendees at the event acknowledged the new progress and outcomes achieved across the district and urged continued efforts to tackle key challenges.

The meeting stressed that Tianhe will vigorously carry out a planned economic quality upgrading project. It will boost both industry and commerce and advance integration between the manufacturing and service sectors.

The district will also roll out initiatives to expand capacity and improve quality in the service industry, foster new industries including AI plus robotics, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, low-altitude economy and aerospace.

It will also plan and build specialized parks for future industries, shore up support from major projects, and push forward project construction with full resolve.

Meanwhile, Tianhe will press ahead with its major development platform initiative.

Centered on the spatial layout of dual-core leadership by the Central Business District (CBD) and Central Technology District (CTD) and corridor-driven growth, the district will accelerate the development of these key functional zones, including Tianhe Central Business District, Guangzhou International Finance City, Guangtang Science and Innovation City and Olympic Sports City to spearhead high-quality industrial growth.

The district will also implement an all-staff investment promotion initiative and refine a robust framework for large-scale investment attraction. Moreover, it will leverage the capacity of industrial investment funds to pool industrial resources, amplify the spillover effects of the AIM Congress, and precisely attract major, high-quality projects with strong driving power to boost regional industrial expansion and economic growth.

Efforts will be stepped up to deliver more developmental initiatives: accelerated urban renewal, enhanced transport connectivity, ecological improvement, and in-depth green Tianhe ecological development.

Tianhe district will give full play to the leading role of the South China National Botanical Garden (SCNBG) as a core green hub.
