Guangzhou Metro Line 11 has opened to passengers, featuring innovative trains equipped with a new domestically developed electric traction system.

This system utilizes core technologies featuring fully autonomous silicon carbide (SiC) power devices. It integrates multiple systems using a Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) approach, effectively enhancing energy efficiency, facilitating smooth operation, and reducing noise.

This marks the first application of such technology in China's urban rail transit, marking a breakthrough in low-carbon and intelligent urban rail transit technology. It offers citizens a safer, more comfortable, and eco-friendly travel experience.

Guangzhou Metro Line 11, the city's first circular metro line, spans 44.2 kilometers and includes 31 stations, with several major stops located in Tianhe, such as Tianhe Park and Guangzhou East Railway Station.

This upgrade project, a key initiative by the China Association of Metros for advancing core urban rail equipment technologies, was developed collaboratively by Guangzhou Metro, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, and Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric. By integrating SiC-based permanent magnet traction systems, high-frequency auxiliary power devices, and TSN, the project has redefined the train's traction and power supply systems, delivering improvements in energy efficiency, smooth operation, safety, and passenger experience.
