More than 100 political and business leaders from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Middle Eastern countries, including those from nearly 70 enterprises in the region, gathered in Tianhe district of Guangzhou recently for the AIM Talks China to explore opportunities for investment cooperation.

This marked the biggest delegation from the capitals of the Middle East to visit Guangdong in recent years, signifying a new phase of deep cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and countries and other destinations in the Middle East, with Tianhe emerging as a prime gateway for the region’s investments into China amid the rapidly evolving global capital landscape.

At the conference, Fahad Al Gergawi, undersecretary of the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Trade, emphasized the abundant economic and investment opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, highlighting active UAE investments in technology, autonomous driving, real estate, and petrochemicals, with a keen focus on AI collaboration with China.

Dawood Al Shezawi, president of AIM Global Foundation, praised Tianhe as a vibrant hub of innovation and high-tech industries, expressing UAE's keen interest in AI sectors such as electric vehicles and smart driving.
