5th Shenchong Cup dragon boat race held in Tianhe
The fifth edition of the Shenchong Cup, a well-established traditional dragon boat race in Tianhe district, commenced on June 13 with great fervor.

This traditional event, deeply tied to the Shenchong River, is hosted alternately by the ancient villages of Zhucun, Huangcun, and Qianjin. This year, Zhucun village took the lead in organizing the event, with teams composed of villagers from the three communities competing fiercely.
Tourists joined local residents along the riverbanks, enjoying the vibrant spectacle of the Dragon Boat Festival amid the rhythmic beats of drums and enthusiastic cheers.
The race covered a total distance of 700 meters, consisting of a 350-meter straight course with a "huilong" turn. After intense competition, four teams advanced to the finals. Qianjin Team No 1 won the championship.

Since its inception in 2019, the Shenchong Cup has become a significant cultural event in Tianhe, embodying the cultural heritage of the local people along the Shenchong River.
From June 13 to 14, Zhucun village hosted a series of dragon boat festivities, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Cantonese Dragon Boat Festival traditions.
