The race featured two categories: 30 kilometers and 15 km. Runners began at the botanical garden, traversing rare plant communities and the scenic Huolu Mountain trails. The course tested runners with steep ascents and rocky terrain, rewarding them with breathtaking views of both lush forests and the urban skyline.
According to the organizers, the central location of the race allowed easy access via public transport, ensuring smooth preparations. With continuous mobile signal coverage, ample safety measures, and abundant refreshments, participants could either race competitively or enjoy a leisurely run.
The event, part of the 2026 Guangzhou Sports Consumption Season, incorporated local Lingnan culture into its medal design. The main venue featured an outdoor brand market and a sports consumption experience zone, connecting a range of urban consumption spaces, making sporting events a new driver of consumption and revitalizing cultural tourism.
