Tianhe district is spearheading efforts to play a leading role in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Agricultural High-Tech Zone, using its strengths across the entire industry chain, including seeding, cultivation, breeding, and branding.

At the Kemulang demonstration base, advanced agricultural technology is visibly enhancing productivity, turning scientific concepts into tangible harvests for farmers. Since its inception in 2017, the South China A (Agricultural) Valley, a modern agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship incubator platform, has incubated over 400 agricultural tech enterprises, fostering industry-wide collaboration and securing over 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion) in investment.

In April 2025, China's first intellectual property securitization product themed around modern smart agriculture launched on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. This financial innovation in Tianhe district has alleviated the industry's capital constraints by converting intangible assets, such as patents, into tradable financial products.

At the end of 2025, Tianhe and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs formalized a strategic partnership to integrate Tianhe's smart agriculture into the province's key development plans. This collaboration aims to attract and nurture leading agri-tech enterprises, focusing on AI-driven agriculture and significant projects within the nation's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).

Looking forward, the district is committed to advancing smart agriculture, bio-breeding, and agri-tech finance, propelling high-quality agricultural development in the Greater Bay Area.
