As the 2026 Guangzhou Art Season continues, two dance dramas are set to be staged in Tianhe to captivate audiences with their exceptional performances, which are renowned for their cultural richness and dynamic choreography, before an international tour across Southeast Asia.

The dance dramas, titled Awakening Lion and Ode to Heroes, will be held exclusively at the Guangdong Art Theater.

Awakening Lion, a recipient of the Wenhua Award and Lotus Award for dance drama, is hailed as the "most thrilling national dance drama". It masterfully blends martial arts, dance, and the intangible cultural heritage of the lion dance, promising an exhilarating experience. The performance is scheduled for July 22 at 7:30 pm.

Ode to Heroes, an entrant for the Lotus Award, brings a war-themed dance of China to the stage, offering powerful cultural implications through its vivid presentation of drums and heritage elements. This multi-dimensional, multi-temporal narrative will be showcased on July 25, with performances at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
