Canton Fair boosts business in Tianhe
Tianhe is experiencing a surge in commercial activity, fueled by the 139th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair.
The Buynow mall on Shipai Street has become a hotspot for international buyers, with daily foot traffic exceeding 20,000. This influx is mirrored at nearby Tianyu Plaza, which attracts 80,000 visitors daily.
Buynow, known for its digital stores, is witnessing a steady flow of buyers selecting mobile phones, laptops, and smart imaging devices. Since the Canton Fair began, the mall has consistently attracted more than 20,000 visitors daily, reflecting its broad commercial appeal and strategic location.
To better serve Canton Fair attendees, Buynow has improved its services. Multilingual guides are available to assist international customers, and new self-service luggage storage facilities have been added. In addition, a dedicated customer dispute resolution desk has been established to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly.
Exclusive promotions for Canton Fair participants run until May 6. Attendees can receive customized gift packages and take advantage of discounts from major tech brands such as iFlytek and HP. Dining outlets also offer gifts for purchases over 99 yuan ($14.50).
The mall has improved tax refund services, with 27 stores offering immediate refunds of up to 9 percent, significantly reducing wait time for international buyers.
