Customs Clearance Passage
1. In places under customs supervision, the customs has set up "Goods to Declare Channel" and "Nothing to Declare Channel".
2. The entry and exit passengers who have nothing to declare shall choose the "Nothing to Declare Channel" (GREEN CHANNEL) without filling in the (hereinafter referred to as ).
3. Except for the personnel exempted from customs supervision and passengers under the age of 16 traveling with adults, entry and exit passengers carrying articles that should be declared to the customs must fill in the declaration form, declare in writing to the customs, and choose the "Declaration channel" (also known as "Red Channel") for customs clearance. Passengers with unclear provisions shall take the initiative to choose the "Declaration channel" for customs clearance and make a written declaration at the customs declaration counter. Any other form of declaration or declaration made at any other time and place shall not be regarded as a valid declaration by the customs.
4. Entry and exit passengers holding diplomatic and courtesy visas granted by the competent department of the government of the people's Republic of China shall take the initiative to show their valid certificates to the Customs at the time of customs clearance, and the customs shall give them inspection free courtesy.
5. The entry and exit articles carried by individuals shall be limited to a reasonable quantity for personal use, and those exceeding this range shall be truthfully declared to the customs, and the relevant articles shall be submitted to the customs for verification and relevant procedures shall be completed.
Exit passengers with the articles listed below SHALL choose "GOODS TO DECLARE" (RED CHANNEL)
1. Cultural relics, endangered animals and plants and their products, biological species resources, precious metals such as gold and silver.
2. Camera, video camera, laptop computer or other trip necessities valued each at over 5,000 yuan ($723), and intended to be brought back at the end of the trip.
3. 20,000 yuan cash or above, or any other foreign currencies in cash equivalent to $5,000 or above.
4. Goods of commercial value, samples, advertisements.
5. Other items that need to be declared to the customs.
Entry passengers with the articles listed below SHALL choose "GOODS TO DECLARE" (RED CHANNEL)
1. Animals, plants, and their products, microbes, biological products, human tissues, blood products.
2. Articles for personal use with a total value of more than 5,000 yuan (including 5,000 yuan, the same below) obtained by resident passengers abroad.
3. Articles with a total value of more than 2,000 yuan intended to remain in China by non-resident passengers.
4. Alcoholic beverages (alcohol content above 12°) above 1500 ml, or cigarettes above 400, or cigars above 100 , or cut tobacco above 500 grams.
5. 20,000 yuan cash or above, or any other foreign currencies in cash equivalent to US$5,000 or above.
6. Unaccompanied baggage. Goods of commercial value, samples, advertisements.
7. Other items that need to be declared to the customs.
Articles prohibited from exportation
1. All articles included in the prohibited entry scope.
2. Manuscripts, prints, films, photos, records, films, audio tapes, video tapes, laser discs, computer storage media and other articles involving state secrets.
3. Valuable cultural relics and other relics prohibited from exportation.
4. Endangered and precious animals, plants (including specimens) and their seeds, and reproductive materials.
Articles prohibited from importation
1. Arms, imitation arms, ammunition and explosives of all kinds.
2. Counterfeit currencies and counterfeit negotiable securities.
3. Printed matter, film, photos, records, films, audio tapes, video tapes, laser discs, computer storage media and other articles harmful to China's politics, economy, culture and morality.
4. Deadly poison of all kinds.
5. Opium, morphine, heroin, marihuana and other addictive narcotics and psychotropic substances.
6. Animals, plants and their products with dangerous bacteria, pests and other harmful organisms.
7. Food, medicine or other articles which are harmful to human and animal health, come from epidemic areas and may spread diseases.
Customs taxation
1. Inbound residents carrying inbound articles for personal use in excess of 5,000 yuan acquired overseas are indeed for personal use after customs review.
2. For the personal articles which exceed 2,000 yuan, carried by inbound non-resident passengers and intended to remain in China, the customs will only tax the excess part of inbound articles for personal use, and tax the indivisible single article in full.
3. The following items should follow relevant regulations if applicable: tobacco products, alcohol products (China Mainland residents travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao for private purpose are allowed to bring, free of duty, 200 sticks (a carton) of cigarettes, 50 sticks of cigars or 250g tobacco shred, and one bottle of alcoholic beverage with an alcohol content above 12°vol (this one-bottle limit corresponds to 0.75L, as generally a bottle of red wine contains 0.75L). Residents from the China mainland and other passengers travelling to and from other countries and regions are allowed to bring, free of duty, 400 sticks (two cartons) of cigarettes, 100 sticks of cigars or 500g tobacco shred, and two bottles of alcoholic beverage with an alcohol content above 12°vol) and 20 types of goods that should be taxed according to national laws and regulations (including TV set, video camera, video recorder, video player, audio equipment, air-conditioner, refrigerator (freezer), washing machine, camera, photocopier, SPC telephone exchange, microcomputers and peripherals, telephone set, radio paging system, fax machine, electronic calculator, typewriter and word processor, furniture, lamps and meal materials).
