The 2026 "Yue BA" Guangdong City Basketball League is scheduled to tip off on March 21 at the Tianhe Sports Center, with the host Guangzhou team taking on the Zhongshan team in the opening game.

The tournament is scheduled to take place throughout August, featuring 21 teams representing various cities in the province. A total of 125 exciting matchups are anticipated, aiming to establish a new signature event that enhances Guangdong's mass sports culture.

Famous for its vibrant basketball culture, Guangdong has long been a hotbed for basketball talent in China. The Yue BA emphasizes grassroots engagement by forbidding the participation of professional players, spotlighting local streetball talents and unsung heroes from the community. These passionate players — emerging from streets, rural areas and local companies — infuse the league with a distinctive and captivating energy.

In conjunction with this tournament, the 2026 Guangdong City Football Super League, or "Yue Super", is set to start in late April with 123 matches, held over weekends, extending through to October.
