As the first provincial-level digital finance innovation industrial park in China, the launch of the Financial City Zone marks a significant step in Guangzhou's efforts to integrate digital and technological finance, aligning with the city's strategic objectives outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).
Situated in the heart of Guangzhou's financial district, the zone will leverage the "One Laboratory, One Platform, One Park" strategic framework to foster an innovative ecosystem centered on data, algorithms, computing power, and application scenarios. This initiative aims to provide fertile ground for fintech enterprises, establishing a digital finance hub with regional and national influence.
Covering 50,000 square meters, the zone's launch signifies a shift from pilot exploration to large-scale aggregation, supporting Guangdong's ambition to become a digital finance leader. The park has already facilitated cloud-based and data-driven services for local digital finance companies, with a business scale exceeding 900 million yuan (approximately $130 million).
In 2025, Tianhe's financial sector is projected to contribute 170.3 billion yuan, representing 52.8 percent of the city's total financial output, underscoring its pivotal role in developing the international financial hub of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
