Tianhe achieves GDP of 700b yuan in 2025

In 2025, Tianhe district achieved a remarkable economic milestone, with its gross domestic product surpassing 700 billion yuan ($101 billion), marking a 4.3 percent growth and accounting for 21.9 percent of the city's total.

For three consecutive years (2023-25), the district ranked among the top three in the CCID List of China's Top 100 Districts.

The district has been building out its "12126" modern industrial system, establishing a 1 trillion-yuan modern commerce industry, a 200 billion-yuan software industry, and four 100 billion-yuan industries in finance, high-end professional services, manufacturing, and construction.

The Zhujiang New Town business circle recorded sales exceeding one trillion yuan, reinforcing its national prominence. The China Digital Entertainment Conference has permanently settled in Tianhe.

In 2025, Tianhe's artificial intelligence industry reached 56 billion yuan, and the financial sector's added value grew to 170.3 billion yuan, representing a 7.5 percent increase and 52.9 percent of the city's total.

Over the past three years, Tianhe has attracted 538 industrial projects, including seven projects valued at 10 billion yuan and investments from 26 Fortune 500 companies. A 2 billion-yuan industrial fund was established, and from 2022 to 2025, 420,000 new enterprises were registered, averaging 1,000 new businesses per day in 2025.

The district also hosted the 15th National Games, with venue upgrades and urban improvements tied to the event that helped enhance Tianhe's profile as a premier urban hub.
