Sports-themed exhibition showcases Tianhe's development

As the 15th National Games are being held, a sports-themed exhibition opened on Nov 9 at Guangzhou East Railway Station in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, using sports as a medium to showcase the district's vibrant development.

This exhibition, which blends the district's history with sports passion, aims to leverage the railway station's massive daily footfall to promote sports culture. It provides travelers from across China an opportunity to experience the dynamic interplay between urban development and sports.

The exhibition revolves around the tagline "Sports Witnessing Urban Transformation", highlighting the evolution of Tianhe district from its pioneering days during the 6th National Games, through the accelerated development of the 9th National Games, to hosting the Asian Games. Each event has significantly reshaped the district's urban landscape and boosted its development.

A key highlight is the first-ever concentrated display of 24 artifacts, including tickets for the 6th National Games and torches for the 9th National Games and Asian Games. These items encapsulate the intertwined history of Tianhe and major sporting events, each carrying significant historical value.

In addition to reflecting on Tianhe's 40-year journey of sports and urban symbiosis, the exhibition also focuses on the ongoing 15th National Games. Through immersive presentations, visitors can envision the new vitality that the sports events will bring to Tianhe.

The exhibition runs until Dec 30.
