Tianhe wins golds at traditional intl sports event
The third Traditional Sports International Festival wrapped up recently, with Tianhe district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, triumphing.
The Tianhe District Dragon-Lion Dance Sports Association achieved a double victory, winning gold medals in both the traditional Southern and High Pole lion dance events.

Organized by the All-China Sports Federation and co-hosted by the International Sports Exchange Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Department, the competition featured five Chinese traditional sports: Martial arts, health qigong, Go, kite flying, and dragon and lion dances. It attracted 783 participants from 39 countries and regions.
The Tianhe association presented a well-rehearsed traditional lion dance routine. The performance combined cultural heritage with contemporary style – featuring precise movements and dynamic drumming that garnered applause from both judges and spectators.

The achievement highlights the international reach of Chinese traditional sports. The Tianhe association also engaged in exchanges with teams from around the world, sharing cultural stories and promoting understanding.
