Shooting test event kicks off on renovated Tianhe venue

The shooting (Rifle and Pistol) test event for the 15th National Games commenced at the newly renovated Guangdong Shooting Range Hall in Tianhe district, Guangzhou, on Aug 26, marking the first competition hosted at the venue since its refurbishment.

The test event was organized in conjunction with the Guangdong Youth Shooting (Rifle and Pistol) Championship, featuring 13 teams from across the province. There were approximately 880 participants, including athletes, technical officials, and staff, who were divided into three groups for a total of 48 events.

Zhu Yingjun, head coach of the Shenzhen Shooting Team, with 30 years of experience, praised the renovated hall. "The facilities are excellent and have an international style, leaving a deep impression," he said. "The event's organization is meticulous, providing a welcoming experience."

Qiu Yanting, an architect from the Guangdong Provincial Architectural Design Institute, highlighted the unique features of the hall's upgrade, highlighting Lingnan culture, low carbon, safety, and high technology.
