On June 12, Tianhe district in Guangzhou hosted a policy briefing, introducing 10 policies to enhance the development of the software industry and another 10 aimed at attracting talent.

Over the next three years, the district plans to allocate 500 million yuan ($69.63 million) in policy funds towards establishing a nationally leading software-industrial cluster.

Software enterprises generating revenues surpassing 500 million yuan will be eligible for annual support of up to 4 million yuan, contingent on revenue growth. Those with revenues between 100 million and 500 million yuan can receive a maximum fund of 1.2 million yuan, while those with revenues ranging from 20 million to 100 million yuan are entitled to receive up to 800,000 yuan in annual support.

Enterprises recognized as national "Little Giants" will receive up to 1 million yuan in support. Little giants are those specializing in niche industries that apply cutting-edge technologies, command a high market share, and boast strong innovative capacity and core technologies.

Companies establishing academicians' workstations will be granted a maximum of 1 million yuan in support. Doctoral and postdoctoral workstations newly established at software companies will receive up to 300,000 yuan.

Enterprises collaborating on industry-academia research projects with universities and research institutions in emerging fields will be given a maximum of 1 million yuan in annual support based on project amounts.

Software companies in the district that bring in top domestic and international talents are eligible for up to 10 million yuan in support. Additionally, leaders of prominent enterprises who have contributed significantly to the development of the software industry in the district may receive up to 1 million yuan in support based on their total annual salaries.

For postdoctoral researchers newly stationed in postdoctoral stations within the district, each individual will receive 200,000 yuan in support. Similarly, newly stationed doctoral researchers will receive 100,000 yuan each.

Postdoctoral talents meeting specific criteria and starting a business or working in Tianhe within one year after completing their postdoctoral station tenure will receive 300,000 yuan in resettlement support.

Enterprises that have recruited urgently needed talents like algorithm engineers and system development engineers in the past three years will be prioritized for 5,000 yuan per person in support.

Highly skilled individuals receiving awards and honors in national, provincial, municipal, and district-level skills competitions will be granted up to 200,000 yuan in support per person.

Moreover, Tianhe supports the establishment of open-source software platforms, with eligible platforms receiving up to 2 million yuan in support.

Encouraging the establishment of public intelligent computing centers, each center can receive up to 1 million yuan in annual support, while enterprises purchasing intelligent computing power can receive up to 1.5 million yuan in support based on actual purchase amounts.

Enterprises that have obtained national-level artificial intelligence algorithm filing will be given up to 1 million yuan in support based on the previous year's research and development investment.
