With the impending arrival of the Dragon Boat Festival, the Liede River was invigorated by the sound of splashing oars on May 10.

More than thirty international and local residents convened in the Liede International Neighborhood of Guangzhou for a cultural immersion, which included learning about festival traditions, hand-painting paddles, and participating in the racing of colorful dragon boats.

AJ, a resident of the United States, has lived in Guangzhou for three years. "This was the first time for me to paddle a dragon boat. It's really interesting," he said.

He spoke highly of the event, which blends fun with cultural education. "My daughter was hesitant at first but ended up loving it," he said.

Organized by the residents' committee of Canton International Community in collaboration with the local Social Worker Station, this event transformed intangible heritage into a platform for cross-cultural engagement.
