World Athletics Relays conclude in Guangzhou
The 2025 World Athletics Relays came to a thrilling close at the Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou on May 11.

Team China competed in six events, securing tickets to the 2025 World Athletics Championships, which is scheduled for Sept 13-21 in Tokyo, in the men's, women's, and mixed 4x100m, and the men's 4x400m relay.
They also broke national records in the men's and mixed 4x400m relays.

Sun Yunfu, director of the Athletics Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and vice chairman of the Chinese Athletics Association, praised the organization of the competition.
He commended the high level of event management, showcasing "Chinese quality" and "Guangzhou efficiency", leaving a positive impression on all participants and guests.

World Athletics president Sebastian Coe lauded the event, stating, "Guangzhou has done a terrific job here."
He highlighted Guangzhou as "a city that understands the importance of sport" and also expressed delight in being able to visit Guangzhou for the event.

Nearly 40,000 spectators attended the competition over the two days, showcasing the enthusiasm and support for athletics in Guangzhou.
