XPeng joins global top 100 humanoid robot makers

New York-headquartered multinational investment bank and international financial services provider Morgan Stanley recently published a detailed report on the global humanoid robot industry, highlighting the top 100 companies that are shaping the sector.

XPeng Motors, based in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, is one of the names making it onto the list.

The company's humanoid robot, IRON, has made a significant advancement with its proprietary "dexterous hand" technology. It features a 1:1 mimetic hand size, 22 movable degrees of freedom, precise grasping and the ability to detect changes in gravity and materials.

It is also said to excel at precise tasks like tightening screws and assembling components on factory production lines.

The robot is due to begin industrial-scale production by 2026.
