Explore a cultural world of diversity in Tianhe

On Feb 15, the Liede International Neighborhood in Tianhe district hosted a cultural exchange event that blended traditional and modern elements, showcasing the mutual influence of Chinese and Western cultures.

Combining the festive atmosphere of Lantern Festival, the event showcased a diverse range of outdoor performances, such as choruses, the passionate tango from Argentina, the energetic samba from Brazil, and the lively songs and dances of Africa.

Seventy market booths were set up at the site, allowing attendees to explore a diverse range of international flavors. Visitors could sample Spanish and Indian cuisine, Turkish ice cream, Middle Eastern, Ugandan, and Peruvian coffee and snacks. Beyond food, the event also featured cultural experiences, allowing guests to try on qipao and hanfu (a traditional Chinese garment), as well as French-tailored clothing with a 145-year history.

A highlight of the event was the consulate-themed exhibition area at Canton Place, offering attendees the chance to embark on a cultural journey. Visitors could explore Italian Renaissance virtual reality art exhibitions, experience Ayurvedic therapy from India, discover ancient palaces in Poland, immerse themselves in the natural landscapes of Turkey, delve into Andean culture from Peru, and admire Thangka art from Nepal.
