Tianhe flower market opens in grand style
On Jan 25, the Tianhe Spring Festival Flower Market opened grandly at the southern side of the Utopa Shopping Center's Olympic Sports Center branch, kicking off a four-day celebration for Chinese New Year.

Spring Festival flower markets in Guangzhou have a long history dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). They symbolize prosperity and good luck for the new year, making them an indispensable traditional cultural event for the people of Guangdong province during Chinese New Year.
With 246 booths set up at the flower market, a wide variety of fresh flowers, handicrafts, and more are on display. Agricultural products from Guizhou and Fujian provinces, such as tea leaves and chili sauces, are also available for sale.

In addition, 12 booths dedicated to intangible cultural heritage items showcase traditional crafts such as ivory carving and Guangning jade carving, highlighting the unique charm of Lingnan culture.
The flower market will run until 2 am on Jan 29.
