Guangzhou-based autonomous vehicle startup WeRide, in collaboration with Guangzhou Bus Group, recently introduced the operation of an autonomous minibus on the Tianhe section of the Guangzhou Bus Rapid Transit or BRT system.

The section starts from the BRT Wenyuan Station and passes through the Chebei village, Dongpu town and Zhucun village stations, covering a one-way distance of approximately 9 kilometers.

The service operates from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm, with one departure each night. It supports payment methods such as Yangchengtong card, mobile QR code payments and NFC payments.

The route also connects with Guangzhou Metro Lines 4 and 13 and links up with the BRT Xiayuan-Wenyuan line.

Residents can now ride minibuses crossing Tianhe and Huangpu districts of Guangzhou, for a convenient commuting experience during the night hours.
