Tianhe ranks 2nd nationally in investment attraction
The 2024 list of China's top 100 districts for investment competitiveness was released by top market research firm CCID Consulting on Dec 10 – with Tianhe district doing particularly well.
It was ranked second nationwide and in so doing it became the only district in Guangzhou to make it through to the top 10 of the prestigious rankings.
This year's assessment was conducted based on an evaluation system comprising six primary indicators and 20 secondary indicators – including government services, opening up, infrastructure, industrial vitality and success in workforce recruitment.
CCID Consulting conducted a comprehensive evaluation of over 900 districts across the country, excluding municipalities directly under the central government, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and national-level new areas.

In recent years, Tianhe has been making great efforts to establish a business-friendly environment.
As of November 2024, the district was home to 777,000 business entities. This included 607,000 enterprises, with 96,000 enterprises newly established in the current year – all the numbers taking the lead in Guangzhou.
In 2023, the district's GDP came in at 655.13 billion yuan ($91.24 billion), accounting for 21.6 percent of Guangzhou's total – maintaining its position as the city's top economic contributor for the 17th consecutive year.
