Pet carnival offers great fun in Tianhe
Owners and their furry friends had a ball at the 18th South China (Guangzhou) Pet Carnival, which took place on Nov 17 at the East Campus Sports Field of South China Agricultural University, or SCAU.
Part of a series of events celebrating the 115th anniversary of SCAU, this year's carnival saw over 2,000 pet owners and more than 1,000 pets taking part.
It was held with the support of 43 pet enterprises and attracted the attendance of over 50,000 visitors, making it a grand pet party.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including dog training performances, a pet fashion show, pet knowledge competitions and pet obstacle courses – with all proving to be highly entertaining.
It also included over 70 stands offering services such as free pet health check-ups, adoption consultations, pet exhibitions and product inquiries, providing a platform for pet enthusiasts to get together and share their experiences.

Ding Hongxing, deputy Party secretary of SCAU, opened the event – noting that since the carnival launched in 2002 it had become a key cultural education project in the university.
"We hope to promote pet culture together through these activities, to build a harmonious society for humans and pets," Ding said – adding the hope that SCAU students would also use the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of industry trends and demands.
