On Nov 11, a plot in the Guangzhou International Financial City in Tianhe district was acquired by Guangzhou 4399 Information Technology. It is set to be used as the site for the company's future headquarters.

The AT101828 plot, with a building area of 40,000 square meters, was sold for nearly 603 million yuan ($83.29 million). According to land transfer conditions, the industry type for the development project on this plot must be software and gaming.

Tianhe is a key hub for the gaming industry in China, with Keyun Road being a landmark location. Nearly 80 percent of gaming enterprises in Guangzhou are located on Keyun Road or in its surrounding areas.

With the industry's growth, more and more gaming companies are expanding from Keyun Road to Guangzhou International Financial City.

In June, Fengzhushou won an industrial land in the eastern part of the financial city; in September, a transaction of 1.17 billion yuan was made for the Southern Rice Flour Factory plot in the western part of the financial city; in October, the Pearl River Enterprises acquired the residential land in the financial city's eastern part.

As a part of the Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone, the financial city is set to focus on developing the digital cultural industry, promoting the rapid integration of digital service export industry with the digital cultural industry, and fostering a group of internationally influential animation and gaming brands and e-sports projects for overseas markets.
