Tianhe company gets landmark data assets certificate
The world's leading testing, inspection, and certifications company, Switzerland-based SGS SA, recently awarded Guangdong Tecsun Science and Technology with a groundbreaking ISO certificate.
SGS handed the first-ever ISO 55013 Data Asset Management System Certification certificate on Nov 7 to the group – located in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province – during the seventh China International Import Expo.
The ISO 55013 certificate concentrates on the management of data assets and can give guidance on the management of data when applying asset management principles or requirements for an asset management system.
It's said to help companies better identify, manage, and utilize data assets. This provides strong support for sustainable development, digital transformation, and activation of data element values and helps drive the overall development of the digital economy.

Tecsun, as one of the core business enterprises in the Tianhe Smart City, has been deeply involved in the social security field for nearly 30 years.
As a result, it's built up a wealth of practical experience in data collection, data services, and data operations.
The certificate is viewed as signifying that Tianhe's data companies represented by Tecsun are gaining high recognition from authoritative international institutions.
In April, the Guangzhou Data Exchange (Tianhe) Service Area – the first of its kind in the city – was inaugurated. Tecsun became one of the operating units of the service area in July.
The service area has so far played an active role in data trading. Tianhe has seen a 385-million-yuan ($53.29 million) increase in the value of data trading since the service area's establishment, with the district's total data trading volume exceeding 1 billion yuan.
