Guangzhou shines at Greater Bay Area arts festival
From Oct 19 to Nov 24, the fourth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival comes to life, featuring over 260 exciting events across the cities of the Bay Area.
During the festival, the Guangzhou Culture Week is expected to be co-hosted by the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Guangzhou municipal bureau of culture, radio, television, and tourism, presenting 18 curated performances and sculpture exhibitions from Guangzhou.
A highlight of this culture week was the new historical Cantonese Opera Princess Wencheng by the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theater, based in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, at the Sha Tin Town Hall in Hong Kong on Oct 22 and 23, with each show playing to full houses.

Another major attraction is the ethnic dance drama Awakening Lion, which is anticipated to be performed on Oct 26-27, marking its debut in Hong Kong. During this period, the creative team behind the drama is also set to host lectures, dance workshops, and stage tours for the public and students of Hong Kong.
On the evenings of Oct 26 and 27, the Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Troupe is poised to premiere its contemporary acrobatic drama Stop for a While at the Guangzhou Opera House.
The Guangzhou Sculpture Institute is scheduled to exhibit 76 classic and outstanding works at the Guangzhou People's Art Center from Oct 1 to Nov 30 in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
