Excitement brews ahead of Tianhe coffee festival

The 6th Kashi International Coffee Festival is scheduled to open on Oct 18 at Haixinsha Asian Games Park – located in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong province.

The organizers say it will run through to Oct 20, offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit over 180 coffee and lifestyle brands.

This year's event will feature coffee brands from 24 cities around the country. They include YAMA COFFEE from Foshan, Again Coffee Roaster from Shenzhen, Saving Coffee from Dongguan, BearBrew from Beijing, Punchline Coffee Roaster from Shanghai, as well as SoulmateCoffee from Hong Kong.

Foreign coffee brands like Nana coffee roasters from Thailand, Rosso coffee roasters from Canada, Contour coffee roastery from Malaysia, and Aery coffee from South Korea will also be present.

A coffee future trendy menu competition and a coffee latte art competition will be staged during the event. At the coffee tasting zone, Guangzhou coffee importer and distributor Ingenuity Coffee will present a rich selection of 60 coffees from seven major coffee regions.

Moreover, several hosts will take turns to entertain the audience during the event. They'll conduct discussions about the appeal of specialty coffee with coffee shop owners, professional baristas, musicians, and other guests.

Three musical plays – Apollonia, Santa Lucia, and Xin Ji Lu De Hua Cai Dian (The Art Store of Xingjilu) – will make a flash appearance at the event.

The entrance fee is 15 yuan ($2.11) per person per day and entry is free for children under 12 years old.
