The 2024 Guangzhou Gourmet Week is currently being hosted at the iconic Haixinsha Asian Games Park in Guangzhou's Tianhe district from Oct 12-16, showcasing culinary delights against the backdrop of the urban landscape.

Zhao Liping, chairman of the Guangdong Cuisine Association and organizer of the Guangzhou Gourmet Week, expressed the vision of using this platform to tell compelling food and city stories.

The goal also includes promoting the vibrant flavors of Guangdong cuisine and the Lingnan culture to the world and allowing people to experience Guangzhou's unique charm and boundless vitality, Zhao added.

This year's event attracts over 100 catering brands. Various food zones, such as a drinking zone and a meat lover "paradise", are set up to create a one-stop gastronomy carnival.

Besides, performers from Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park entertain the audience with captivating parade performances. More than 10 young campus bands, including "Paradise" from the College of Music of Hanyang University in South Korea and "Modern Slavery" from Xi'an Jiaotong University, showcase their talents, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The gourmet week is being held concurrently with the 136th Canton Fair, which kicks off on Oct 15, welcoming over 260,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and regions worldwide, with high-quality cuisine as a centerpiece.
