Tianhe sees tourism boom during holiday
From Oct 1 to 6 during the National Day holiday, the passenger flow was more than 13.12 million at the Tianhe Road Business Circle in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, a year-on-year increase of 10.7 percent, according to the Guangzhou municipal bureau of commerce.
The daily passenger flow at the business circle exceeded two million on Oct 1-4, with an increase ranging from 13.07 percent to 41.43 percent compared with the same period last year.

This year's Guangzhou International Shopping Festival raised its curtain on Sept 29, just before the week-long National Day holiday starting Oct 1. Combined with the holiday, it launched more than 300 themed activities.
Plus, with the carnival activities like bazaars, music performances, and artistic exhibitions to mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between China and France and the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, the business circle saw a booming passenger flow.
The introduction of the first shops also drove the area's passenger flow growth. From 2021 to 2024, Guangzhou introduced 743 first shops, of which 49 percent settled in Tianhe.
