Greater Bay Area innovation goes on show in Tianhe

The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation Achievements Tour Exhibition came to the Guangzhou Library on Sept 19-23 – located in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong province.

The Greater Bay Area includes nine cities from Guangdong province – Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing – plus Hong Kong and Macao.

The exhibition featured nearly 80 display panels focusing on the achievements of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

These were in sci-tech innovation, modern industrial system construction, talent cultivation, industrial technology and other new quality productive forces – offering an opportunity for Guangzhou residents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Greater Bay Area's development.

In recent years, the Greater Bay Area has seen rapid development that has yielded some very fruitful results indeed. Statistics show that its total economic output was worth more than 14 trillion yuan ($1.99 trillion) in 2023.

The exhibition was initiated by Hong Kong Commercial Daily in 2020. This year's edition was launched in Hong Kong on Aug 30 and it has toured Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing and Jiangmen.
