The unveiling ceremony of the Guangzhou Industrial Software Application Promotion Center, which was set up and led by Tianhe-based SIE Information, took place on Aug 29.

The center will be committed to gathering innovation resources from the upstream and downstream of the industry, creating a public service platform integrating functions like achievement display, resource sharing, technology and application scenario incubation, technical talent cultivation, and expanding the industrial software ecology.

Huang Fuwei, deputy director of the Guangzhou bureau of industry and information technology, said at the unveiling ceremony that the center's establishment will help Guangzhou build new comparative advantages and foster a new industrial ecology.

He also conveyed his optimistic outlook that enterprises would capitalize on this opportunity to undertake digital transformation and upgrading and to promote the application of independent innovative industrial software in production, manufacturing, storage, as well as operational and maintenance activities.

Besides, the Guangzhou Industrial Internet Innovation Consortium was established during the event by the Guangdong branch of the China Academy of Industrial Internet and SIE Information. The event is dedicated to providing a range of services to its members, including policy consultation and industrial cooperation.

It will also build technology-sharing service platforms like a concept-proof center. The event also expects to undertake promotional activities aimed at facilitating the application and popularization of scientific and technological achievements.

Tianhe district, being a hub for scientific and technological innovation in Guangzhou, has consistently maintained its leading position in terms of GDP for 17 consecutive years.

In 2023, the district witnessed an increase in the establishment of tech enterprises, with 27,000 newly registered ventures marking a year-on-year increase of 30.4 percent.

Additionally, 948 enterprises were added to the national science and technology SME database, up by 28.8 percent year-on-year.

To date, the district has 30 industrial software enterprises above the designated size, which refers to those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.82 million) or more.
