National Frisbee league drops curtain in Tianhe
The two-day Guangzhou Leg, or South China Division, of the 2nd National Ultimate Frisbee League, ended at the Tianhe Sports Center on Aug 18. It featured seven participants from Guangdong province, Hainan province, and Hong Kong.
In the end, Guangzhou STORM secured a 12-8 victory over Hong Kong DXY thanks to their speed, skill, and teamwork. The two have both qualified for the national finals in Chengdu, Sichuan province, this September.
Tan Shunsheng, team leader of Guangzhou STORM, said that the team has a number of members with more than 10 years of experience in playing Frisbee and conducts a 3-hour training session every week, with a tacit understanding.
"It is utterly glorious to win the South China Division's championship," Tan added.
