Tianhe roadshow promotes sci-tech commercialization
A roadshow for very promising science and technology projects was staged on June 18 in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong province.
The activity, which took place at the International Guangzhou Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Tianhe Base, attracted more than 100 attendees, including representatives of investment funds and Tianhe's governmental departments.
It also invited a dozen projects to showcase themselves operating in the fields of artificial intelligence, new materials, biotechnology, and big health – including those being developed by BubbleDeck, CGC Energy Technology, and Guangzhou Tianyue Electronic Technology.

During the event, officials from Tianhe's governmental departments also showed guests the district's competitive advantages in promoting the commercialization of the sci-tech findings and achievements.
Tianhe is now home to more than 146,000 technology enterprises and over 5,000 national technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises and high-tech ones – accounting for more than 20 percent of Guangzhou's total in either category.
The Wushan-encircled innovation source area, in which the Tianhe Base is located, boasts considerable innovation resources.
It now has four double first-rate universities, 32 university research institutes, 10 national key laboratories, 52 maker spaces, and incubators, as well as 141 laboratories jointly operated with Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
What's more, 51 new licensed financial institutions have settled in Tianhe over the past three years, taking the total amount to 290 and making up over 75 percent of Guangzhou's total.
Adding to that, there are now 264 incubators and maker spaces in Tianhe, of which 61 are at or above the provincial level, both ranking first in Guangzhou city.
