Tianhe activity aims at enterprise cultivation
The first session of Tianhe's series activities, aiming at further cultivating enterprises of high growth potentiality, took place at the International Guangzhou Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Tianhe Base on May 7.
The series of activities are poised to provide a platform for exchange and learning for provincial-level specialized, elaborative, characteristic, and innovative SMEs or the third batch of "little giant" enterprises during the validity period. "Little Giant" enterprises are those specializing in niche industries that apply cutting-edge technologies and have powerful growth potential.
This session attracted more than 50 enterprises in fields such as information technology and biomedicine.
Zeng Guofu, an evaluation expert from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, explained in detail the declaration policy, identification methods, and indicators of "little giant" enterprises, as well as the declaration process and the precautions for declaration at the event.

Financial services for tech enterprises were also introduced at the event, including financial products like credit, bonds, equity, and insurance, which can meet the needs of tech enterprises at different stages of development.
In recent years, Tianhe has been devoted to promoting the high-quality development of tech innovators.
As of the end of 2023, the district was home to 4,242 tech SMEs and 2,367 high-tech enterprises, both ranking second in Guangzhou city. Last year, 45 enterprises from the district made the list for unicorns in Guangzhou, setting a new record. A unicorn refers to a startup that is valued at more than $1 billion within 10 years of its establishment.
Sixteen Tianhe enterprises obtained the qualification of "little giant" in 2023. Three internet companies entered China's top 100, accounting for 42.9 percent of Guangzhou's total and ranking first in the city.
