Guangzhou's Tianhe district has been devoted to improving afforestation in recent years, and its efforts have been paid off.

By the end of 2023, the district attained a green coverage rate of 42.3 percent, an achievement which can be attributed to the establishment of 107 parks, each of a different type along with the construction of 152 kilometers of greenways.

Since 2023, the district has completed the construction of 5,000 sq m of vertical planting and 2 km of greenways. An expansive 408.75 mu (27.25 hectares) of green space has been introduced to the urban areas of the district.  In addition to this, the climbing entrance to the Huolu Mountain Forest Park has undergone a renovation, and 5.2 km of forest trails have been newly constructed.

Besides, the district has completed improving the quality of 115-mu forests. Construction was also finished on the 15-mu waterfowl ecological corridor.
