The fourth session of the 10th Tianhe District People's Congress took place from March 19-20, with deputies making various suggestions.

Chen Guizhen, general manager of Guangzhou Qiweishi Consulting, has been engaged in the technology industry for over 10 years and is well aware of that talent is key to business development.

Therefore, Tianhe should accelerate the gathering of high-caliber tech talent and innovation teams, especially those in the fields of new-generation artificial intelligence and big data, Chen suggested, adding that relevant supportive policies should also be issued.

Infrastructure like old water and gas pipelines in Tianhe's urban villages are set to be improved, which will transform the urban villages into a springboard for the district's high-quality development, said Chi Jinling, chairman of Guangzhou Sanjun Enterprise Group.

She added that actions ought to be taken to preserve the cultures in the district.

According to Guo Guangming, an assistant professor at the Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology, the Wushan-encircled innovation source area is highly-concentrated in universities, research institutes, tech enterprises, and innovative talent, and hence boasts a strong innovation capability.

It is suggested that improvements be made in areas such as transportation and services aimed at the commercialization of sci-tech achievements as well as talent.

"Digital culture exports will be the next focus of our company," said Chen Weicong, chairman of Guangzhou Q-Dazzle Network, after listening to the government work report at the congress.

He noted that the company developed rapidly over the past 10 years thanks to Tianhe's strong business environment and unique advantages in digital economy, and has been awarded the title of "national key enterprise for cultural export" for six consecutive years.
