Development goals set for 2024 in Tianhe
Guangzhou's Tianhe district aims to achieve a 6 percent growth in its GDP in 2024, with a total amount exceeding 700 billion yuan ($97.47 billion), announced at the fourth session of the 10th Tianhe District People's Congress, which kicked off on March 18.
The district is set to add 100,000 market entities and three listed enterprises this year. The number of enterprises above the designated size will exceed 10,000, and that of the high-tech enterprises above the designated size will total over 1,100.
Three projects, each investing over 10 billion yuan, are poised to attract investors to the district, as well as 10 projects invested by Global Fortune 500 companies.

Construction on 38 projects is set to start within this year, driving 83 billion yuan in fixed-asset investment.
The number of licensed financial institutions is poised to reach some 300 by year's end, while the total retail sales of consumer goods will exceed 220 billion yuan.
This year, the Tianhe central business district (CBD) is scheduled to attract 10 headquarters enterprises, newly build two buildings with tax revenue of over 100 million yuan, and realize over $2.2 billion in digital service exports.
Five new pocket parks are planned to be built in the district this year, as well as 327 mu (21.8 hectares) of urban green lands and 7.8 kilometers of greenways.
More than 55,000 new urban jobs will be created in 2024, and two public schools are scheduled to be newly built to offer over 3,600 educational seats.
