Guangzhou's Tianhe district is seeking public opinion for its measures to accelerate the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence big model industry.

From 2024 to 2026, the district is planned to boost the construction of the Guangzhou International Financial City, part of the Guangzhou AI and Digital Economy Pilot Zone, to newly add 1 million square meters of industrial space, cultivate no less than 10 unicorns and drive Tianhe's strategic leading industries to reach an output value of no less than 100 billion yuan ($13.89 billion).

Unicorn companies are pre-IPO startups with at least $1 billion in market value.

It will support Fortune Global 500 companies, their first-tier subsidiaries, and construction units of national-level innovation carriers to set up AI-related businesses in Tianhe.

Newly established companies that become one above the designated size are set to be granted a one-time reward of 100,000 yuan. A one-time bonus of 1 million yuan will be given to those with annual business income exceeding 100 million yuan for the first time.
