Tang-style Lantern Festival kicks off in Tianhe

The opening ceremony of the Tang-style Lantern Festival took place at the Grandview Plaza in Guangzhou's Tianhe district on Jan 27, along with a holiday parade.

The event will last until March 15, meaning it will continue through China's Spring Festival on Feb 10, the Lantern Festival on Feb 24, and Women's Day on March 8. With a focus on the prosperous Silk Road in the Tang Dynasty, it also has set up over 10,000 lanterns to recreate the dynasty's bright streets at night.
