Outdoor festival brings artistic feast
The 5th Guangzhou Outdoor Arts Festival, with its theme of "The Urban Wave," kicked off at Huacheng Square in Guangzhou's Tianhe district on Jan 5 and will run through Jan 14.
More than 400 performers will stage performances from different music, dance, and opera genres during the 10 days. They include the Guangzhou Opera House's youth marching orchestra, the La Tuna de Canton band, and the guitar band Lee Guitars of Taiwan singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee Chung-shan.

Since its inception, the festival has welcomed over 1,800 performers from 18 countries and regions. They include artists from Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States – with the event attracting over 300,000 people to watch its live performances.
