New building capped in Tianhe financial city
The headquarters building of China Construction Fourth Engineering Division Corp was capped at the Guangzhou International Financial City in Tianhe district on Dec 26.
Starting construction on April 17, 2022, the building will have 36 floors on the ground and three floors underground, with a total height of 176 meters. It is scheduled to be put into operation at the end of 2024.
As one of the first pilot projects for intelligent construction in Guangdong province, the project applied eight kinds of orbital and free-walking robots to realize automatic and streamlined operations of metal bars' transferring, concrete work, formwork work, and safety inspection.

In October, it was given the near zero energy building certification by the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, becoming the nation's first super high-rise office building to get such certification.
Near-zero energy utilization is achieved in the building by designing cold alleys and solar chimneys. Renewable energy sources like solar photovoltaic power generation and air-source heat pumps will also be used in the building.
