The Tianhe branch of the Affiliated TCM Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University was put into operation on Dec 22.

Covering a combined floor area of some 122,000 square meters, the hospital can offer 800 patient beds. It has set up featured departments like the TCM Medical Technology Center and the Sleep Psychological Clinic, which will combine traditional Chinese acupuncture with psychological treatment.

"The development of the Tianhe branch will integrate traditional Chinese medicine technologies and modern medical concepts," said Yu Lin, director of the Affiliated TCM Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.

An intelligent service platform is applied in the hospital, which can offer patients services such as online registration and automatic sending of test results and medicine delivery information to patients' phones.

Facilities like automatic medicine dispensers and intelligent dismantling machines are equipped at the pharmacy to reduce the waiting time for patients to receive medicines.
