Exhibition on building crafts kicks off in Tianhe
An exhibition on the traditional Lingnan architectural decorations recently kicked off at the Ancestral Temple of the Liu Family in Guangzhou's Tianhe district.
The temple was built by Liu Yongfu (1837-1917), a famous general in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is now one of the most complete relics of Liu in Guangzhou and is a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong province.
The temple covers more than 3,000 square meters and has exquisite decorations. It is a representative of Lingnan-style family temple buildings in Guangzhou in the late Qing Dynasty. [Photo/WeChat account: tianhefabu]
The exhibition mainly displays the temple's architectural decoration techniques, including wood, stone, and brick carvings. Physical items, pictures, and caption texts jointly showcase the beauty of Lingnan-style traditional architectural decorations.
Free admission is available for the exhibition from Tuesdays to Sundays.
