Tianhe museum rated as national 3A-level scenic area
The Guangdong Local Chronicles Museum in Guangzhou's Tianhe district was recently rated as a national 3A-level scenic area.
By means of sand tables, scaled models, replication scenarios, real products, images and texts, and multimedia, the museum displays the general situation of Guangdong province as well as the province's contributions to China's history, reform, and opening-up.

The 5D cinema that is used to showcase a film about Guangdong utilizes special effects, including lightning and thunder, wind, frost, rain, and explosions. This allows the audience to have an immersive experience. [Photo/WeChat account: tianhefabu]
The museum also features a library, bibliography reading rooms, and genealogy reading rooms.
To date, there are more than 100,000 documents in the museum, including over 16,000 family lineage documents.
The museum is open and free to the public Tuesdays through Sundays.
